Trampolinists wear 3-sensor loadsol® insoles and perform some series of jumps. The aim of the measurements is to draw conclusions about the stability of the athlete’s ankle during contact with the mat. Therefore loadsol® insoles were chosen which distinguish between lateral and medial load on the forefoot.

The measurements were performed by scientists of the Sports Institute of the University of Giessen, Dr. Katja Ferger and Michel Hackbarth, who work on the project “Innotramp” funded by the Federal Institute for Sports Sciences, in cooperation with the DTB (German Gymnastics Association). The athletes train under the direction of Steffen Eislöffel of the Federal Base in Bad Kreuznach.

We are pleased to announce the 16th Expert Scientific Meeting - ESM 2020! (www.esm2020.de)

ESM 2020 will be held July 22nd through 25th, 2020 at the newly renovated Spitzingsee Arabella Hotel and Congress Center nestled in the beautiful Bavarian Alps, one hour from Munich.
This biennial meeting has a beloved tradition dating back to 1988 and will combine two days of scientific presentations, educational courses, workshops, and a networking day - all dedicated to research and conversation on dynamic load measurement in biomechanics.

Upon arrival in Munich on July 22nd, the conference workshops will inaugurate ESM 2020 and provide participants with information on the latest advances in load measurement.  A late afternoon reception will be held to welcome participants and guests prior to the Spitzingsee congress venue departure.

The conference includes two full days of scientific research presentations reflecting the latest developments in load distribution measurement and mobile force measurement. Researchers from all disciplines (basic science, research and development, applied science, clinical, etc.) and utilizing all technologies of load measurement are invited to attend. A variety of research topics will be presented and may include load measurement on the foot and hand, pressure distribution within artificial limbs, on seats and horse saddles, in automotive and various other industrial applications.

The art in science® Award for load measurement research will be presented for the best scientific manuscript in the field of load measurement and the winner will receive an award of EUR 5,000. Monetary awards will also be offered for the best presentation, best poster, and the most promising proposal at the conference.
