Pedography has been scientifically tested worldwide. Every measurement can be started from the novel patient database, which is linked to the software used in the surgery or clinic via network.

The patient walks over an emed^® pedography platform on cue, being given an acoustic signal by the computer. At the same time, a video image of the gait on the platform can be captured.

Measurement data are averaged, analysed and compared to the norm group data. Based on this data, novel medical software generates a specific report on the patient’s pathology.

In only 8 minutes time, the physician or therapist is issued an analysis of the biomechanical function of both feet as an HTML file that could be opened with any common internet browser.

It is also possible to print out a colour image of the footprint which can be attached to the patient record. Background of this scientific method is the development of the emed^® load distribution platform and of the scientific software, which are the result of a cooperation between novel and their partners that has lasted for over 20 years.
